Pilot Project Open Air for the Restart of Club Culture

Dancing for science! By participating, you are making an important contribution to the future of club culture.

The registration phase for the raffle is over. Thank you for the great interest in our pilot project! The lucky participants will be drawn at random by our system and notified by e-mail with further instructions.

Culture and art are socially relevant even and especially in times of crisis. Therefore, the Institut für angewandte Forschung e.V. Berlin is funding the interdisciplinary project Hygiene Concepts and Infection Prevention in the Event Industry (Hygieia) in the research network of Prof. Dr. Claudia Winkelmann, Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin, and Prof. Thomas Sakschewski, Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the Berlin startup hanteras, who realised the digital infrastructure.

In this study it will be shown that that the implementation of the hygiene concept as a basis for the approval of the event during operation is 100% possible.

Together with the team from the Revier Südost a comprehensive concept for the realization was created, which will take place with selected artists and volunteers as a pilot project event in the form of an open-air dance event.

  • Am I allowed to dance at the event?
Yes, dancing is expressly welcome - with mask and distance.
  • Who is allowed to participate?
For the study, we are looking for 300 volunteers who are at least 18 years old.
  • How do I participate?
The participation process is done through a drawing of lots. If you are interested, you can register for the draw at the bottom of the website and you will receive a notification from 18:00 on Thursday if you have been drawn for the study. Then you will have to confirm your participation once again and will receive your access ticket, as well as further instructions by mail. Please also check your spam folder!
  • When can I apply?
Registration is now open here on this page and runs until Thursday 3pm.
  • Does the event cost anything?
No, the event is for free.
  • Can I come with friends?
You can register a friend with your registration. If you have been drawn, you will receive a notification by mail, which you must confirm individually! This is important, otherwise only one person is allowed to come.
  • How does the study work?
On the day of the event, you will first be tested on our premises before you are allowed to enter the event. If your test result is negative or you are fully vaccinated (min. 14 days ago) or recovered (max. 6 months ago), you will be allowed to participate in the event and will be given a small tracker device to wear around your neck on a lanyard at all times during the event. The devices will record the number of distance underruns per device during the event - this data will be read and analyzed anonymously and only as part of the research project. In addition, a few people you recognise observe and record how the hygiene concept is adhered to. This is also done completely anonymously. 10 days after the event you have to be tested again on our premises - even if you have been vaccinated during this time. You will then receive another exclusive goodie as a thank you.
  • Do I need a negative test?
Yes, you have to be tested on the day of the event. Unless you are recovered (max. 6 months) or fully vaccinated (min. 14 days). Please be sure to bring appropriate proof of this.
  • Can I get tested somewhere else or do a self-test?
No, you have to do the test on our premises, because it has to be done immediately before entering the premises. If you take the test again after the 10 days, you will receive an exclusive goodie as a thank you.
  • Do I have to go into quarantine after the event?
No, you do not have to go into quarantine after the event. However, by participating you commit to another quick test on our premises 10 days after the event.
  • I have not received an email after my registration, what can I do?
If you have already checked your spam folder, please be patient. If you have been drawn, you will receive a notification in time. Even if you are not lucky and have not been drawn, you will receive a notification on Saturday at the latest.
